Freddie Smith
Freddie Smith is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in behavioral healthcare operations. He manages programs for individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities, focusing on helping individuals transition back into the community after release from the Department of Corrections (DOC).
As Director of Transitional Housing Services and CBRF Operations, Freddie oversees more than 50 transitional housing sites throughout Wisconsin, working with the DOC to bring clients into temporary housing – usually three months – and then facilitating their re-entry into employment and permanent housing in the community. He case manages the clients to ensure that their medical, housing, family reunification, and education and training needs are met so that they can transform themselves into productive citizens.
Freddie works closely with probation and parole agents, legal teams, and government officials to improve services. He also leads software implementation for client tracking, sets up telehealth services, and manages business development tasks like drafting proposals and budgets. Freddie has strong skills in leadership, staff supervision, conflict resolution, and regulatory compliance. With a military background, he brings discipline, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality service, making him a valuable leader in behavioral healthcare.
